This Dutch 2017 Restrike Silver 1 oz. New York Lion Dollar is perfect for collectors who appreciate American numismatic history, as it replicates modern-day America’s first silver dollar. It was struck from .9999 fine silver at the Royal Dutch Mint and is part of a mintage of only 5,000 pieces.

Exquisite Lion Design
A knight stands at the center of the obverse in full armor. Covering his legs is a shield that bears a lion rampant. A rim inscription in Dutch translates to “Silver money of the Province of the Netherlands.” Beadwork is both inside and outside of that inscription.

On the reverse is a rampant lion, which appears on the Dutch coat of arms. The powerful creature swings its tail and has its tongue stuck out menacingly. There is an inscription on the rim that translates to “Who trusts in the Lord is not moved.” It is joined by the date, “2017.”

Flawless Proof 70 Ultra Cameo Money Fair Releases with Black Core Holder and World Money Fair Lion Dollar Label
The Numismatic Guaranty Corporation determined that this coin is in perfect condition as seen under 5x magnification, as evidenced by the coin’s perfect Proof 70 grade. NGC also certified the coin as an Ultra Cameo and noted that it was issued for the Money Fair on the label. The label also notes that the design comes from the first ever American silver dollar.
