Description

This beautiful silver bullion release from the Perth Mint is dedicated to the Australian Emu. The flightless bird is an Australian native, holding the status of the world’s second largest bird. This 2018-P Australian Emu coin is struck from 1 Troy oz. of .9999 fine silver measuring 40.60 mm in diameter and is among a limited mintage of only 30,000.

Gorgeous Emu Imagery
An Emu is depicted with magnificent detail on the reverse, as it walks through the grassy landscape of the Australian outback. Perth’s Mint mark “P” appears above the creature’s tail feathers. The image is framed by the inscription “AUSTRALIAN EMU” above, with “2018 1 OZ 9999 SILVER” curving in the earth below.

The obverse features the elegantly crowned portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II as sculpted by Ian Rank-Broadley. This distinctive image has graced the coinage of Australia since 1998. Inscriptions include “ELIZABETH II,” “AUSTRALIA” and “1 DOLLAR.”
