Reverse: The reverse of this coin features the details of an enormous Whale Shark, drawn in the spectacular reverse proof finish. Behind the shark appear various corals. The image of the shark exceeds the traditional round shape of the coin to remarkable effect.

Obverse: The obverse of the coin features a unique mintage number of the coin but also the Ian Rank-Broadley designed image of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
