Description
This silver proof coin was originally part of a five coin set issued in 2015 to celebrate the release of the eleventh film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, titled Avengers: Age of Ultron. The coin features the character Tony Stark, dressed in one of the electromechanical suits of armour that embodies the identity of the superhero known as Iron Man.
The reverse features Iron Man in his signature red and gold armoured MARK XLV Stealth Suit aggressively advancing with his laser palm aimed forward. The image is surrounded by a machine themed background and border containing the inscriptions “IRON MAN,” “2015,” “1 OUNCE .999 FINE SILVER” and “MARVEL.” “ELIZABETH II,” “NIUE,” “TWO DOLLARS” and “2015” encircle the right facing portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse, created by sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley.

It measures 40.70 mm diameter, struck from 1 Troy oz. of .999 fine silver by the Sunshine Mint for issue by Niue. Only 2,500 proofs were minted.

When these Marvel low mintage silver coins came up , I purchased two immediately Captain America and Ironman. Like all the Silver Coins really pleased with the quality and the production. These have a low mintage of 2500 worldwide so I am confident they will be in demand and command a premium in the years to come.
